Staff Transitions at the Diocese

Welcome Back, Bishop Smith

Bishop Wayne Smith returned to the office this past week following his July vacation. Despite his “vacation” time, he’s been rather busy with staff transitions:

The Bishop has called the Rev. Michaelene Miller as the Director of the Deaconess Anne House program of the Episcopal Service Corps in St. Louis. Michaelene is an alumna of the Deaconess Anne House and was ordained as a priest in the Fall of 2018. She began her new job with our diocese August 1.

The Bishop has appointed Janis Greenbaum as the Communications Director for the Diocese of Missouri. Janis has served as the Director of Christian Formation and Communications at Grace Church in Kirkwood for the past eight years and at St. Martin’s in Ellisville for five years before that. Her first day with the diocese will be August 26.

This week we welcome the Rev. Canon Doris Westfall as our Interim Canon to the Ordinary. Doris is the former rector of St. Matthew’s in Warson Woods and has served in five interim positions in Louisiana, Ohio and the St. Louis area over the past several years.

Also this week we say farewell to the Rev. Canon Joe Chambers, who leaves his position as Canon to the Ordinary to become the Chief of Staff in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. We thank Joe for his service and wish him well in his new job.
