Reflections by Mother Leslie

Dear St. Martin’s Family,

It is wonderful to be a part of this community of faith that comes together each week to give thanks and lift our hearts to God. There is a tangible spirit of joyful community and gratitude on the move as we worship and praise God in study, song, prayer and in the spoken Word.

We know that whatever the circumstances of our lives, God is truly there for us. Whatever it is that we are experiencing — joy or sorrow, health or illness, success or failure — God’s hand is on our shoulders, and the Spirit of Christ is with us in our inmost beings. Each week at the offertory, we offer God not only bread and wine, not only our pledges and offerings, but “our selves, souls and bodies, all that we are.” Stewardship is about our relationship with God, and empowering each other and this community as disciples.

As we move forward with our giving, our church can experience a new level of spiritual strength. We become energized in a powerful way. We move forward with our witness for Christ and toward the fulfillment of our dynamic missional presence in our community, diocese, state, nationally and globally.

We are all encouraged and urged to begin praying now about our personal stewardship response. Seek God’s guidance and discernment as you examine this part of your spiritual life.
