Beloved People of St. Martin’s,
My name is Page Andersen and I have recently been voted on by our vestry to serve as your Junior Warden. I want to give you a little background on myself because the Junior Warden is the “people’s warden” so it’s important that you’re able to recognize me and know that I would love to get to know all of you.
I first came to St. Martin’s in 2002 when we moved to Chesterfield and were deciding where to have our second son, Thomas, baptized. My husband, Greg, and I had been married at Holy Communion in University City and our oldest son, Kyle, was baptized there too. When I called St. Martin’s, the woman who answered the phone had an Australian accent so we got to talking about family backgrounds. Helen Ludbrook called me back with exciting news that she found a book showing that our families were related! Wait, what?!? What a small world… her husband, Phil, and my father-in-law, Tim, have the same great grandfather. We’re about the same age as Helen’s boys and it’s been a blessing being able to get to know the entire Ludbrook family. Just as we were getting used to having family around, we made a difficult decision to move to Texas. We ended up staying there for six years from 2005 – 2011. We found a wonderful Episcopal church, St. Nicholas, where I introduced the children’s worship program I had learned here. When we came back to Chesterfield there was no doubt we would return to St. Martin’s!
This is the beginning of my third year on the vestry. I was tasked to lead our capital campaign effort but that was put on hold during our search for a Priest-In-Charge. The search was a very intense process and I’m proud how the vestry worked together in a respectful and swift manner that resulted in our call to Mother Leslie. This is an exciting time for St. Martins! I’m here for you as your Junior Warden to listen to your ideas and get to know you all. I love making connections with people and hearing their stories. I typically go to the 10:15 service and sometimes the 5:05. I’ll do my best to get to the 8AM service occasionally to make myself available to that faithful group.
If you’re not able to catch me at church please feel free to call or text me at 314-817-4432 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
