Sunday, November 11, 5:00 p.m.
As part of Veterans Day ceremonies marking the dedication and reopening of Soldiers Memorial, Christ Church Cathedral will celebrate a service of Evensong Honoring Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Soldiers Memorial Military Museum offers both long-term continuing exhibits as well as short-term special exhibits. These exhibits reflect a commitment to exploring the stories of local military service members, veterans, and their families. Admission to Soldiers Memorial and its continuing and special exhibits is free.
The Memorial has been undergoing renovations for the past three years. Now managed by the Missouri Historical Society, the building has been freshened, the exhibits redeveloped, and a number of new resources are now connected. The Memorial is one block south of the Cathedral at 1315 Chestnut St. Visit their new website for the story of their renovation and the opportunities now available: www.mohistory.org/memorial.
Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, and is free and open to the public. The service will include music with the theme of peace performed by the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, led by organist and choirmaster Canon William Partridge.
