Upcoming Events for Youth

We are gearing up for an exciting time in our Diocesan Youth Ministries. Below are four upcoming events for you to share with the youth in your congregations. Please spread the word far and wide!

Walking Toward Grace: Lenten Youth Event
On March 10, 2017 from 5pm-8:30pm the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council is holding a Lenten event for all youth in grades 6-12. “Walking Toward Grace” will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves. We will have dinner, and watch the documentary “13th” followed by discussion and an interactive Stations of the Cross. This event is free to all, but registration is required in order to plan for dinner for all participants

Spring Youth Lock-In
We will be hosting “And Also With Y’all” a lock-in at our southernmost church, Holy Cross, Poplar Bluff on April 14-15, open to all youth in grades 6-12.

Summer Mission Trip: Gateway to Grace
This summer’s mission trip will be held June 24-29, 2018. Gateway to Grace is a five day service, formation, and fellowship experience in St. Louis for youth who have completed grades 8-12. We are very excited that a group of youth from the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina will be joining us for this experience! Missioners will engage in ministry with the people of St. Louis, forming relationships as they take part in various service opportunities around the city. Working with Kingdom House, the largest settlement house in St. Louis, volunteers will participate in formation experiences that will help us broaden our understanding of a Christian response to poverty, racism, hunger, and educational inequality. Missioners from Missouri and Upper South Carolina will worship, learn, play, serve, and grow together during this incredible week. We have 10 spots for this mission trip, so please encourage your youth to register soon! Registration closes on April 8, 2018.

Camp Phoenix 2018
Registration now open!! Believe it or not, it’s time to start planning for summer camp! This year Camp Phoenix will be held from July 29-August 4, 2018. This awesome Episcopal camp experience is open to young people age 8-15.

I am always very happy to come visit congregations to meet with youth and parents, lead a forum, preach, celebrate, or just be present for worship…let me know if you would like to schedule a visit! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
